Ivor Ries is a veteran of the media industry, working for the Fairfax Media group for 21 years from 1979.
After commencing with The Age newspaper in Melbourne as a business reporter he moved to the Business Review Weekly, where he was a foundation member of the group of 12 that launched that publication.
In 1986 he moved to Tokyo to become North Asia correspondent for The Australian Financial Review.
This was followed by eight years as Chanticleer Correspondent (1991-1998) and two years as Associate Editor.
In 2001, Ivor moved into broking research with Baillieu Stockbroking in Melbourne, where he covered the media, technology and the oil and gas utilities space for 11 years and was head of research for five years.
Other senior roles include equity analyst, Wilson HTM before joining Morgans were he worked as a Senior Research Analyst for 7 years.
